If you happen to visit our beautiful beaches this summer between JUNE 15th and JULY 22nd, stop by the Cultural Arts Association's Designer Showhouse!!! It is spectacular this year. The home is located in the The Retreat in Blue Mountain Beach right off of Scenic Hwy. 30-A and is definitely one you don't want to miss.

This year, I furnished + styled the library-office located on the third floor and opted for a modern, classic vibe with a bit of a vintage twist. The room showcases classic mid-century pieces by Eames and Stark, along with a menagerie of vintage/eclectic books and curiosities I've accumulated collected over the years. Here are some pics I took with my iPhone….

I'm just thrilled with the "lived-in" feel of the space and absolutely in LOVE with the panoramic views through the windows. What a perfect spot for enjoying a spectacular sunset [or sunrise…whichever you prefer] over the Gulf waters.

Oh, and I want send out a huge thank-you to TERESA CLINE for graciously lending me a gorgeous painting to complete my look. It is part of her new "Ocean Moods" series …words can't express how super talented she is!!! Check our her blog over here or visit her website to see more of her work. By the way, Teresa's pet portraits rock, I so need one of my fur-baby:)

And here are a few additional interior shots of the home [obviously unfurnished]. Each room is truly unique and the overall feel of the home is just pure tranquility and complete calmness. Can't wait to see how the other local designers style their spaces…got a peek at a few of the rooms today, and I must say I'm so very excited!!! Can't wait until Monday night's Preview Party.

I recently discovered images captured by in a Dutch magazine I was reading […or let's say I was looking at the photos and trying to translate the words on the page using what little Dutch I know]. Finding his work to be very intriguing, I decided to check out his website.
One word came to mind immediately : W O W !!
It appears he's worked with some of the best [in my personal opinion] in the design biz…can you say hello Hable, Martha Stew, J. Adler. The list goes on and on and on…. Check out his work over here.
I just wrapped up a fun makeover on an adorable little SEASIDE cottage named "Splendor in the Sand". First off, I must say the house had great bones and excellent natural lighting giving us a great backdrop to work from. All that was lacking was a little style and some serious "focus". Secondly, my client and I both agreed it was desperately needing some pops of C O L O R to transform it from drab to fab.
I was able to use most of their original furniture, just repurposed it or moved it to a new location where it could shine. Added custom fabrications, tons of original artwork, some one-of-a-kind modern and vintage accessories, and a few splashes of colorful tile. Oh, and a few coats of fresh paint where it was SOOOO needed! You might recall this previous post highlighting our improvements…
Here are the BEFOREs and AFTERs…enjoy!

Yesterday my friend Michelle stopped by for a visit and showed me a house featured in Atlanta Homes Magazine. She has such an eye for design/style and said she'd been drooling over it for the past few weeks. Now I'm completely DROOLING over it too, thanks Michelle!!
So inspiring…I just L O V E the architectural details and the ginormous windows throughout the home. Sunlight = Happiness. And the pecky cypress and monochromatic color scheme are so warm and inviting ! ! ! ! See it for yourself here. Bravo to the whole ATL design team, must have been a fun project to work on. :)
So, I had a few of you inquire about my "sneak peek" post… Wanted to let you see where it has evolved. And yes...it's for a nursery. So C U T E and F U N, can't wait to see it completed. :)
