July is HERE !!

Is anyone else shocked that it is already JULY?!?!?!?!?  I can't believe how time has flown by this year.  Well, this we are headed to a couple of cookouts this weekend, and I was just thinking of what I wanted to bring to each.  So here are a few mouth-watering [favorite] recipes I just couldn't resist sharing.  Both are to DIE for … and I'm thinking I might double the quantities = one batch for the party, …and one batch for ME. :)

Holidays Are Here

 

H A P P Y  HOLIDAYS ! ! ! … Hoping y'all are enjoying your weekend with Family + Friends.  I most definitely will be doing BOTH. I love this time of year, and what a fabulous year it has been. :)  

 

Your Chariot Awaits!

Dear Santa,

I would like a Family Chariot Tricycle with custom Tory Burch detailing for Christmas this year.  It would be perfect for our family of 3…or 4 if you count my dog Sable.  I've been really good ALL year and will continue to be good thru next year if you were to bring me this trike.  I promise!!!  Oh, and did I mention, I've been home bound for over 4 weeks now with our newest addition…so in my opinion, I totally deserve a GREAT gift this year:)

 

HAHAHAHAHA, no really, this bike is pretty cool.  But what about that price tag $$$???  Hey, it is electric…and has "sophisticated aesthetic".  A girl can dream, right?

Halloween D E C O R

It was such a gorgeous weekend, and I was in the mood for some Halloween decor.  So we headed over to the local "pumpkin patch" a.k.a Seaside Stables to pick out a few pumpkins.  I was channeling a  w h i m s i c a l  theme this year…

Opted against carving our pumpkins since last year they totally rotted in a couple of days due too the humidity.  And this way, after Halloween, I can remove the electrical-taped eyes and pop off the hot glued "noses" and use them for some sort of Thanksgiving-Harvest themed decor.  Recycle and Reuse.

I added a few palmetto leaf clippings, pine cones, and dune sunflowers from the yard, and voila'.  Instant holiday fun for $20 ! ! ! !

Florida Blueberry Season

 
Hope everyone had a  F A B  4th … we seriously enjoyed the low humidity and the gorgeous sunshine over the weekend.  Even took a field trip to Gainer Farms, a local blueberry farm in Chipley, to hand pick some fresh berries.  Would highly recommend doing this when given the opportunity.  It was such a fun experience.

At Gainer, there are 3 types of blueberries.  Climax was our favorite, had an interesting hint of peach flavor.  Brightwells were a close runner up.  Probably took us 40 minutes to pick 4 gallons, and did I mention it's only $8 per gallon.  DEAL of the week! ! ! !  

Oh, and one perk to hand picking … you get to sample the goods while you pick.  Y U M M M M M M !

So much fun!  We will most definitely return next year.  The owners were super nice and real down to earth.  The property was amazing, complete with rolling hills and ginormous shade trees.  The blueberry season in NW Florida runs from Memorial Day thru Independence Day.  In the meantime, we have 4 gallons of berries to E A T.  

Does anyone have a few good recipes they'd like to share? ? ?   :)

H A P P Y Father's DAY ! ! !

 

I wanted to wish all those dad's out there a "H a p p y  Father's  D a y " ! !  Hope you're getting the extra special love and attention you all so deserve [whether that means breakfast in bed, the kids washing your car, a nice quiet fishing trip alone, hogging the TV remote all day, etc…].   Regardless, enjoy your weekend and maybe take some time off and spend it with the family :)

Kickoff To The Summer

Guess this is the official kickoff to summer?????  Hope everyone has planned a fabulous holiday weekend. I know we will be sharing our time with family and good friends.  And I'm sure I'll squeeze in a grilled hotdog somewhere in the mix…
